STEP 1.)
Check your current version of Internet Explorer, establish a connection to the
Internet, and start Internet Explorer. Across the top of the screen click Help
and click About Internet Explorer.

2.) The current version will be
displayed.

3.) In the Address line, enter www.microsoft.com.
Microsoft’s web site will open.
STEP
4.) Type ie 6 in the Search
box and click the GO button.
STEP
5.) Click Download Internet
Explorer 6 or Order the CD.
STEP
6.) Under DOWNLOAD click the GO
button.
How to Download and Install
1.
Click the Internet Explorer 6 link to download.
2.
Choose Run this program from its current location and click OK.
3.
Click Yes if asked whether you would like to install and run Internet
Explorer 6.
4.
Click Yes to begin the installation process.
When you click Download, you are prompted to
download a 500 KB setup file called ie6setup.exe. During the setup, you can
choose the type of installation you prefer, and Internet Explorer downloads only
the files you need.
Total download size for a typical
installation is approximately 17 megabytes (MB). However, because setup
downloads only those files that are necessary for your computer, this size can
vary between 6 and 17 MB.
Note Third-party download managers (for example, Netzip, GetRight, etc…)
intercept the download, and cause the installation to stop. To prevent this,
disable third-party download managers before running the setup file.

Under DOWNLOAD click Internet Explorer 6.
STEP 8.)
Select Run this program from its current location and click the OK
button.
STEP
9.) The ie6setup.exe will download.
STEP
10.) Click the Yes button on
the Security Warning window.
STEP
11.) Select I accept this
agreement and click the Next > button.
STEP
12.) Click Next > at the
download window.
STEP
13.) The components will be
downloaded.

14.) The components will be
installed.
STEP
15.) The install will finish, click Finish.
