Installing MDAC 2.7 RTM

 

STEP 1.) Establish a connection to the Internet, and start Internet Explorer. In the Address line, enter www.microsoft.com. Microsoft’s web site will open.

 

 STEP 2.) Type mdac in the Search box and click the GO button.

 

 STEP 3.) Click Download MDAC 2.7 and Other Updates. .

 

 STEP 4.) The Free Downloads screen will open, scroll down to the 2.7 RTM Release section.

 

 STEP 5.) Click Download MDAC 2.7 RTM (2.80.7713.4) and read the Download Instructions.

To install the Microsoft Data Access Components:

  1. Read the end user license agreement (EULA) for MDAC 2.7 RTM (2.70.7713.4). By downloading you agree that you have read the EULA and accept the terms.
  2. Choose the version from the list at the bottom of this page (see descriptions below).
  3. Click "Go to Download" to go to the download page and install or download the file.
  4. Optionally, use the Back button on your browser to return to this page and select another component.

 

MDAC Minimum Supported Configuration


MDAC 2.7 is supported on the following configurations:

Windows 98 with the Y2K Update 2 and Internet Explorer 4.01 SP2 or later
Windows 98 Second Edition
Windows Millennium
NT 4 SP5 (or greater) and IE 4.01 SP2 or later
Windows 2000

 

 STEP 6.) Scroll down to the gray box and click the Go to Download button.

 

 STEP 7.) Click the Open button on the File Download window.

 

 STEP 8.) The mdac_typ.exe file will download.

 

 STEP 9.) Select I accept all of the terms of the preceding license agreement and click Next >.

 

 

STEP 10.) Click the Next > button on the Setup window.

 

 

STEP 11.) Click the Finish button on the Install window.

 

 

STEP 12.) The components will be installed.

 

 

STEP 13.) Click the Finish button on the Restart window.
